Like his father, Robert Freer used to tell him, “No one will care how long it took to make it, but they will care if it’s well made”.
Wood turning started as a hobby, but quickly became a passion. Now, that hobby has turned into Freer Woodcrafts.
Every piece you see in his booths at various farmer’s markets, street fairs, or his online shop was created with local wood in his small shop in Chesterton, Indiana.
The wood he uses are quality hardwoods such as maple, walnut or cherry. Usually upcycled from Mother Nature’s fury, donations, or picked up from the side of the road. Then, they are transformed into a piece of art that would fit perfectly in any home.
